As robots move into increasingly collaborative and human-centered environments, Human-Robot Interaction is becoming a key capability for next-generation robotic systems. Vulcanexus HRI, developed within the eProsima-led Vulcanexus ecosystem, introduces a modular framework for integrating perception, communication and interaction capabilities into ROS 2 applications.
News
eProsima is working with engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) within the TNET (Time-Sensitive Network Embedded Technology) initiative, a research effort exploring the use of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) Ethernet for future spacecraft communication architectures.
eProsima is contributing safety‑critical communication technology to “AutomatedTrain” – a research and development project by Digitale Schiene Deutschland (DB InfraGO AG) and eight other partners. The project is testing the fully automated, driverless dispatching and stabling of trains as well as their automated preparation and shutdown. Within the “Safe Onboard High Performance Compute Platform” subproject, Safe DDS supports the definition of requirements towards a certification‑ready onboard computing architecture for future fully automated trains.
eProsima announces that Safe DDS 3.0 has achieved ISO 26262 ASIL D certification, reaffirming the product’s suitability for safety‑critical automotive systems and building on the certification previously obtained for version 2.0.
eProsima is proud to announce that Safe DDS has been adopted by GMV in an R&D project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) under the Future Launchers Preparatory Programme (FLPP).
The next generation of Fast DDS for mission-ready deployments
Fast DDS Pro is the commercial edition of Fast DDS, available under license with support.
The Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems (DST), based in Duisburg, Germany, has adopted Fast DDS as the core communication middleware in its flagship platforms for research and development in inland navigation automation: the virtual test environment VERA and the scaled demonstrator ELLA.
Madrid, Spain – eProsima is proud to announce its collaboration with the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) on developing the communication architecture for high-performance autonomous racing vehicles.
eProsima introduces SafeCam, a demonstration prototype showcasing the capabilities of Safe DDS, the ISO 26262-certified middleware for real-time and safety-critical communication. SafeCam integrates multiple sensor modalities, including an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor, and an image sensor, to highlight Safe DDS’s deterministic, low-latency, and scalable communication framework for embedded and distributed systems.
Showcasing the Future of Robotics with Vulcanbot, Safe DDS, and the Arise Ecosystem
eProsima is proud to announce its Platinum Sponsorship of the European Robotics Forum (ERF) 2025, reinforcing its commitment to advancing real-time communication and safety-critical middleware for robotic applications. At ERF 2025, eProsima will present live Vulcanbot and Safe DDS demonstrations.
LOGISTEED Solutions, Ltd. has introduced AutonMate, a state-of-the-art Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) engineered to transform operations in logistics and warehousing. AutonMate's advanced capabilities include autonomous item picking, real-time navigation, and dynamic obstacle avoidance—achieved without relying on predefined guides or physical infrastructure. This innovation is powered by ROS 2 and its high-performance communication middleware, Fast DDS, both of which demonstrate robust scalability and reliability in demanding operational environments.
Madrid– Planet Farms, a leader in vertical farming, has integrated Vulcanexus, the all-in-one ROS 2 toolset with Fast DDS at its core, to enhance real-time data exchange and automation across its operations. Built entirely on ROS 2, the system relies on precise and scalable communication, ensuring accurate monitoring and optimization of crop conditions.
At eProsima, we’re proud to introduce ROS 2 Easy Mode, a groundbreaking approach to simplifying ROS 2 communication while enhancing reliability. If you’ve ever struggled with reliable communication, Wi-Fi network congestion, or scaling up large deployments, it’s time to leave those worries behind. Now, everything is easy.
