eProsima is working with engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) within the TNET (Time-Sensitive Network Embedded Technology) initiative, a research effort exploring the use of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) Ethernet for future spacecraft communication architectures.
As part of this work, Fast DDS Pro is being used in a technology demonstration focused on deterministic and fault-tolerant data delivery over TSN-enabled networks. The work investigates how DDS-based middleware can support communication between heterogeneous systems, including integration with ROS 2 environments and data concentration components bridging legacy interfaces into TSN networks.
This activity contributes to the evaluation of standards-based communication technologies for next-generation space computing platforms, including those based on emerging high-performance architectures.
Fast DDS Pro provides advanced Quality of Service (QoS) control and TSN integration capabilities, enabling precise control over latency, reliability, and data distribution in demanding environments.
This collaboration builds on eProsima’s ongoing work in deterministic distributed systems and its commitment to open standards in aerospace, robotics, and high-performance computing.
