eProsima has been working on a new exciting demo combining some of our cutting-edge technologies!

The use-case we laid out, is meant to demonstrate how two separate ROS 2 dataspaces hosted by distinct subnets can be put into communication over the internet thanks to Integration Service and to the TCP capabilities of Fast DDS. Integration Service is a tool developed by eProsima enabling intercommunication of any protocol with DDS.

Open Robotics is the organisation behind ROS and ROS 2. In December 2019 they launched the idea to categorize the quality and maturity of packages in the ROS ecosystem which was finally executed during the summer of 2020.

micro-ROS is now an Associate Partner of the Zephyr Project and together they target the same range of embedded systems such as connected sensors and actuators, and small IoT devices of all kinds. They complement each other by allowing to easily create heterogeneous distributed robotic systems and also integrate these devices into the ROS 2 (Robot Operating System) ecosystem.
